Focusing on Success
As part of its expanded outreach initiative, USAC conducts site visits of a significant number of recipients, in order to see Universal Service Fund support in use, assess USAC's outreach and education efforts, observe best practices in the field, and ensure that program funds are being used in compliance with regulatory requirements.
USAC has engaged a vendor to conduct a series of site visits for a significant number of funding recipients. USAC, working with the vendor, prepares interim site visit reports and also prepares a special report titled, "Focusing on Success." This report is designed to show how Universal Service Fund support for schools and libraries is being used by school districts and libraries around the country.
The report highlights success stories of applicants that have come to rely on the USF to expand educational opportunities for students through better use of telecommunications technology in the classroom. As USAC completes more site visits, this report will be updated periodically.
