Rural Health Care Tools:
Site Visits
As part of its Rural Health Care Site Visit Outreach Initiative, USAC conducts site visits of Universal Service Fund support recipients, in order to see Universal Service Fund support in use, assess USAC's outreach and education efforts, and observe best practices in the field.
USAC Site Visit Outreach – Rural Health Care Site Visits
The site visits provide USAC with valuable feedback regarding methods to improve the Universal Service Fund program and to identify "best practices" for use by other Universal Service Fund program participants. The Rural Health Care site visits also provide USAC with a venue in which to observe Universal Service Fund support in use.
Rural Health Care support ensures that rural health care providers pay no more for telecommunications in the provision of health care services than their urban counterparts. The links to the right contain helpful information for health care providers regarding the Rural Health Care Site Visit Outreach Initiative.
BearingPoint, Inc. was selected to conduct these visits on behalf of USAC. BearingPoint will interview representatives involved with administration of the Rural Health Care Program at the health care provider's site to obtain a greater understanding of their experiences and solicit feedback on how USAC can better serve recipients of Universal Service Fund support.
