Low Income

Site Visit FAQS

How was I selected? Site visit recipients will be selected by USAC at random.

How long will the visit last?Visits will typically last between 2 and 4 hours, depending on how much your company has to share with the Site Reviewer.

Is this an audit? The site visits are not audits, but are primarily an outreach initiative. However, USAC has an obligation to take back support that is not justified and to report any instances of potential noncompliance with the FCC’s rules.

Do I need to prepare anything in advance? During each visit, the Site Reviewer will be collecting examples of how companies advertise the availability of Low Income support to their customers.  Please have examples of advertising that the Site Reviewer can retain available on the day of the site visit.

What will USAC do with the information? Data collected during the site visit process will be used by USAC for a number of purposes, including:

  • Identifying best practices to share with other program participants
  • Improving USAC’s outreach and education efforts
  • Improving USAC’s administration of the Universal Service Fund (USF) Low Income Program
  • Identifying how companies are managing the administrative requirements of the USF Low Income Program
