Low Income

Site Visits – Overview

As part of its Low Income Program Site Visit Outreach Initiative, USAC conducts site visits to Universal Service Fund (USF) support recipients in order to observe best practices in the field, assess USAC's processes and procedures, identify outstanding issues and provide outreach and education efforts.

USAC Site Visit Outreach – Low Income Site Visits

The Low Income Program provides discounts on basic, local telephone service to over 7 million Americans. The links to the right contain helpful information for companies regarding the Low Income Program Site Visit Outreach Initiative.  The site visits provide USAC with valuable feedback regarding methods to improve the USF program and help USAC identify and better understand industry "best practices" for use by other USF program participants.

BearingPoint, Inc. was selected to conduct these visits on behalf of USAC. BearingPoint will interview representatives involved with administration of the Low Income Program at the carrier's site to obtain a greater understanding of their experiences with the USAC processes, gain an understanding of how companies are using the funds relative to a specific study area and solicit feedback on how USAC can better serve recipients of USF support.
