FAQs about Site Visits
How was I selected? Site Visit recipients will be selected at random by USAC.
How long will the visit last? Visits will typically last between 3 and 5 hours, depending on how much your company has to share with the Site Reviewer. This estimate includes the time needed to complete a tour of your company's facilities and Study Area.
Do I need to prepare anything in advance? No. You do not need to have anything prepared for the visit. However, you will receive a copy of the questions that will be asked approximately two weeks prior to the site visit. These questions do not need to be completed prior to the date of the site visit. USAC recommends that you review the questions and ensure that the appropriate people are in attendance to answer them.
Will I need to make my consultant available? No. It is not necessary to have your consultant present during the site visit. However, consultants may attend the site visit at your discretion.
What will USAC do with the information? Data collected during the site visit process will be used by USAC for a number of purposes, including:
- Identifying best practices to share with other program participants.
- Improving USAC's outreach and education efforts.
- Improving USAC's administration of the Universal Service Fund (USF) High Cost program.
- Gaining an understanding of how companies interact with USAC and manage their USF support through consultants and/or the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) agents.
