Biography of D. Michael Anderson
Mr. Anderson is the Vice President -State Government Affairs for Windstream Corporation and is responsible for the company's state regulatory and legislative activities in Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. He was named to this position in June 2010 in conjunction with the Windstream acquisition of Iowa Telecom.
Prior to joining Windstream, Mr. Anderson was the Vice President-External Affairs for Iowa Telecom, a position he held since 2000. He was responsible for all state and federal regulatory and legislative activities and all carrier relations functions. Prior to joining Iowa Telecom, he spent 21 years with GTE Corporation, serving in various management positions involving regulatory and legislative policy development and implementation.
Mr. Anderson is a past President and past Director of the Iowa Telecommunications Association. He has also served on the board of directors of the Nebraska, Minnesota, and Missouri Telephone Associations. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the USAC Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of USAC's Audit Committee and is a member of the Rural Health Care, Executive, and Executive Compensation Committees.
