Biography of D. Michael Anderson

Dave Baker Mike Anderson is Vice President-External Affairs and Marketing for Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc. and is responsible for all of Iowa Telecom's state and federal regulatory and legislative activities. He is also responsible for Iowa Telecom's marketing organization, which includes development and implementation of product and marketing plans that support the company’s statewide core businesses. His responsibilities also include the operation of the company’s wholesale services group, which manages and services business relationships with competitive local carriers, incumbent local carriers, and wireless carriers. In addition, he is in charge of Iowa Telecom's corporate communications group.

Prior to joining Iowa Telecom in 2000 in conjunction with GTE Midwest Inc.’s acquisition of the Iowa operations, Mr. Anderson spent 21 years with GTE in various management positions involving regulatory and legislative policy development and implementation. From 1989 to 2000, he was Director of External Affairs for GTE Midwest's Midwest operations group, where he managed the company's regulatory and legislative activities in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, and Minnesota.

He is a past Board President and past Director of the Iowa Telecommunications Association. He has also served on the board of directors of the Nebraska, Minnesota, and Missouri Telephone Associations. He currently represents Iowa Telecom on the policy committees of USTelecom and the Independent Telephone and Telecommunications Alliance, two telecom industry associations.

Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central College in Pella, Iowa.
