Biography of Caroyn Ridley

Carolyn Ridley

Carolyn Ridley is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for tw telecom. She is responsible for legislative and regulatory matters for seven states in the southeast. Ms. Ridley advocates before various governmental bodies to create a regulatory environment that fosters competition and is conducive to achieving the company's business objectives.

Ms. Ridley has extensive managerial and regulatory experience in the telecommunications industry – 27 years in total. Before joining tw telecom, Ms. Ridley was with AT&T for thirteen years in various sales, managerial and regulatory positions. She received many awards and accolades for outstanding performance and continued her success during the fourteen years she has been with tw telecom. In recent years, in addition to her primary responsibilities at tw telecom, she has served in leadership roles in telecommunications industry associations including serving as Vice President (in 2001, 2004 and 2005) and President of the Southeastern Competitive Carriers Association (in 2002, 2006 and 2007) and Vice President of CompSouth in 2008 and 2009; she helped establish and continues to participate on an industry task force to promote the interconnection of Managed Packet Networks; and she participates on an industry task force to support the initiatives of Connect KY, a non-profit organization seeking to increase broadband deployment and availability throughout Kentucky.

Additionally, in 2008, Ms. Ridley was appointed by the Governor of Tennessee to serve on the Tennessee Broadband Task Force and by the Governor of Kentucky to serve a three year term as the Chair of the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority.

Ms. Ridley received an M.B.A. degree from Marymount University in Arlington, VA in 1989 and a B.S. decree in 1981 from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She is married and resides in Bowling Green, KY, and Nashville, TN.
